Lauren Eckermann Turnbill was born and raised in Brenham, Texas. She gained an interest in softball at an early age and after being named All-American in high school, Lauren went on to play at Temple Junior College where she was named JUCO All-American and held a perfect 31-0 record in her final season.
After Temple, Lauren competed for The University of Oklahoma where she was named a Lowe’s Senior Class Award Finalist, a member of the Academic All-Big XII Team, a NCAA All-American, Big XII Co-Pitcher of the Year, and Big XII Tournament MVP.
In 2007, Lauren tied the school record for most wins in a single season with 37. It was while she was playing at OU that Lauren met her husband, Kevin. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, Lauren and Kevin moved to Texarkana where they coached softball for Texarkana College. Following a season of coaching, Lauren went on to attend law school at The University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she obtained her J.D. in 2012.
She and Kevin moved back to Texas in 2013 and welcomed their son, Hudson, the same year. They welcomed their second son, Harrison, in 2016. Lauren and Kevin are members of First Baptist Church Brenham and are also involved in their local community as volunteers for Main Street Brenham and Adam’s Angels Ministry.
In addition to caring for and raising Hudson and Harrison, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.
