Cully Lipsey
Born in Houston, Texas, Cully was reared in the small west Texas town of Van Horn. The son of a physician who made house calls and a musical mother who committed herself to causes, he was the oldest of three children and graduated from Culberson County Rural High School in Van Horn in 1969. Like most students in a small high school, Cully was involved in many activities, serving as a captain of the football team and winning the Texas state championship in persuasive speaking.
After graduation, he ventured halfway across Texas to Waco and enrolled at Baylor University, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. While there, he served in the Student Congress, Student Foundation, as president of his fraternity, and as Senior Class President. Following graduation, he attended the Baylor University Law School and received his J.D. in 1975.
Cully Lipsey immediately began his practice of law in College Station, going to work for Phillip Goode, owner of University Title Company in the firm of Goode and Hoelscher. His early caseload included a variety of general legal issues from real estate and title issues to criminal law and family law. Over the years, he began to specialize in real estate law while still maintaining a strong foundation of expertise in wills, corporations, partnerships, probate, oil and gas, and general business. He is affiliated with and represents University Title Company and the Bryan College Station Regional Association of Realtors.
Mr. Lipsey is a member of the State Bar of Texas and its section on real estate, trust, and probate. Cully is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in commercial real estate law, farm and ranch real estate law, and residential real estate law. From 2007 to 2013, he served on the Real Estate Law Specialization Exam panel, which prepares and grades the specialization exam statewide and was chairman of the panel in 2011 and 2012.
He is and has been a member of the College of the State Bar, the Texas College of Real Estate Attorneys, the Brazos County Bar Association and the Texas Land Title Association. He has remained active in civic affairs through his positions of service on the MSC Opera and Performing Arts Society, the First United Methodist Church in Bryan, and the Bryan Education Foundation.
In addition to work, Cully enjoys time with his daughters, family and friends, college athletics, Major League Baseball, teaching Sunday School, music and theater, and whiling away hours doing absolutely nothing.
